The City of Fairmont and Marion County offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities for the entire family. From whitewater rafting to outdoor historical drama to simply enjoying the view from our beautiful rail trial, Fairmont - Marion County welcomes you!
Rail Trail Information
There are currently two trails in the city limits of Fairmont: MCTRAIL on the East Side and West Fork River Trail on the West Side. Download a Trail Map Here [PDF]
In 2021, the City of Fairmont clearly established a cross-town connection to the West Fork River Trail from Downtown with the installation of sharrows and wayfinding signage.

Reservation Information
The City of Fairmont offers Soccer/Football fields and Softball/Baseball fields at Windmill Park with additional unofficial field space at 5th Street Park, to schedule a field please complete the Field Usage Request Form [LINK].
The City of Fairmont offers Pavilions for reservation at Windmill Park (1 reservable pavilion) and Morris Park (2 reservable pavilions). To request reservation of a pavilion, please complete the Pavilion Application [LINK].
Our parks serve as wonderful venues for community events. If you would like to hold your event at one of our Parks, please complete the Special Event Application [LINK].
The City welcomes community involvement in our Parks through volunteering. If you would like to volunteer to help with any projects in our parks please complete our Volunteer Waiver [LINK].
