City of Fairmont Area Recreation

The City of Fairmont & Marion County offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities for the entire family. From whitewater rafting to outdoor historical drama to simply enjoying the view from our beautiful rail trial, Fairmont - Marion County welcomes you!

  • Morris Park

This beautifully rustic wooded park is situated on approximately 112 acres of land, located in Pleasant Valley. This park is very serene and perfect for walking or nature watching. For pavilion rentals, please call (304) 366-6211.

Once used as the area fairgrounds this park is situated on more than 20 acres overlooking the Monongahela River. The park is currently home to youth soccer and men's softball leagues. For pavilion rentals, please call (304) 366-6211.

Beautifully situated along the East bank of the Monongahela River in the downtown area, this park provides the perfect place for peaceful walks and access to the river for boating and other water sports. The park is currently under study for major redevelopment as an expanded waterfront park and recreation area.

  • Veteran's Plaza

Veteran’s Plaza, located in downtown Fairmont, is a joint partnership between the City of Fairmont and the Military Veteran's Council which will honor and pay tribute to area veterans in an urban park setting. It currently hosts various outdoor recreational events.

  • Neighborhood Parks

There are five neighborhood parks located throughout the City of Fairmont. All park locations offer picnic areas and playground equipment.

  1. Norwood Park  Morgantown Ave. (playground, basketball & tennis courts)
  2. Bellview Park  Fulton Street (picnic areas, playground & basketball courts)
  3. Morgantown Avenue Park  (picnic areas, playground & tennis court)
  4. Fifth Street Park  (picnic pavilion, basketball courts & playground)
  5. Oliver Avenue Park  (tennis courts)
