The City of Fairmont will be installing a new water valve on Fairmont Avenue on Monday, January 13, 2020 between 7:00am – 5:00pm weather permitting. An alternant date is January 14, 2020. The following areas will be affected: Beach Lane, Maplewood Drive, Furbee Lane, Jarrett Road, Green Gables Road, Clifton Road, Crestmont Circle, Fairfield Road, Otlahurst Drive, Mazewood Drive, Idlewyle Lane, Rivercrest Drive, Pleasant View Circle, and surrounding areas.
This could possibly discolor the water in the surrounding areas. While work is being performed, there is also a possibility that some customers may experience low pressure, cloudy water, or an interruption of service. If you experience low water pressure, your water is discolored, or you service is interrupted please follow these instructions. Do not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one (1) minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, bathing, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.
The city will not be responsible for any damage caused by discolored water ….
